Our Review

Editor's Rating
Editorial ReviewWisconsin Homes is a superior modular home manufacturer that is building high quality homes that can be customized for any upper scale home buyer. The builders we spoke with are very happy with the many options and quality of construction. They recommended Wisconsin Homes over the other modular builders they also represent. The only problem we have is that their website is good but lacks the level of information you would expect. Hopefully they will fix this oversight. Also be careful on shipping distance as that can add significant costs.

Personal Reviews of Wisconsin Homes

Absolutely terrible. "Forgot" to install the HVAC to the 2nd floor, forgot to attach or secure any ductwork anywhere, forgot to leave matching trim to finish cabinets, 4 page list of Right to Cure and not one thing corrected, repaired, or delivered in over 90 days and ongoing. No one was available for any of it, ever, yet they were on site without my permission with the "builder" and did a walk through without me there, yet denied all of the issues from the first week of set. Photos were sent from week one and nothing was ever done. You cannot even get a hold of the actual owner of the company. I spent tens and tens of thousands to complete the home myself.

Built in 1977. Great house love the layout and all the windows for light and air flow. A bonus is its on a raised basement for a great view.

As a modular home owner, anyone interested in building a new home needs to take a factory tour in Marshfield to see the Wisconsin Homes facility. The houses in their village are amazing and the factory tour helps give an understanding about how well the homes are constructed.

Harold Schweik from Mosinee, WI
Built in 1998, we love our home except....the contractor used two different colored shingles on the garage and front porch roof. These two areas were not part of the original contract with Wisconsin Homes, but a separate agreement, contracted with the Wis. Homes contractor to add these requirements in addition to the home. These off color shingles are very noticeable. In addition, the top of the roof had to be re-shingled due to the contractor having kids do the work while he was up at his cottage. Other than that, we do enjoy our home. It is now up for sale.

If there would have been a 0- rating that would have been to much. we have been in our house since Nov 1993. Went to put in a new window in the front of the house no wrap, hardly any insulation and rotten wood. awful construction. would not recommend construction because it will turn into a major rebuild. had to tear off the front of the house replaced floor walls etc.

Mike & Mary Little from Pleasantville
Overall we like our house with a few exceptions. Our house has been here since the fall of 1999 and the shingles are the biggest issue that have had to be patched after every wind. It has become a weekly job. There are two other issues with the floor it is so noisy in the basement it sounds like someone is jumping upstairs when all they are doing is walking. The floor construction was one item that made us choose this brand of home but it seems to bee a real issue. Some of the areas shake our furniture as you walk by. The last item are the water lines whenever the water is turned on the whole house can hear it. It is really annoying. We purchased our home from RJ in Des Moines Ia.

we have not been happy with the contractors that installed our home, the inside doors do not fit, we have bats which is really upsetting us, we was told they came in through the rig vents, it is going to cost us over a thousand dollars to get rid of them then more money for clean up, this is causing us a lot of stress, so far we haven't found anyone that has the time to come out so there is now a foul smell in the house, we don't feel that this should have happened in a four year old house, we don't know if this is the fault of the factory or the dealer that we bought the house from which was Fawn Creek Homes in Anamosa Iowa.

Thomas Peacock from Marenisco,MI
We have been in our Wisconsin Home for five years and have found it to be excellent in every respect. The designers at the factory incorporated every detail we asked for and the result far exceeded our expectations. We were even welcome at the plant to watch our home being built! This builder is highly recommended! The one warning is to be sure of the reputation of the dealer, as they are responsible for installation and finishing. This was our only problem.
