Personal Reviews of Skyline Homes

The home was delivered in late February 2017 I am still having problems after a technician is been to the house twice I have siding it's coming off I have bubbling in the countertop around the kitchen sink I have numerous cracks in the sheetrock and I have been talking to them for the last 6 months recently 3 weeks ago on a Monday I was told I was going to get a call from a contractor that day a week went by the supervisor from the factory called me a week later and so we'll have to get on it it's now another week and I've not been contacted I am really disgusted with Skyline service. They are very slow to respond

I never received the important consumer information packet before I bought My home. There was a sheet from hud stating that the building materials emit formaldyhyde an can cause irritation to eyes nose and throat. Also may cause astma. I would have never bought the home if I that paper would have been shown to me before I bought. I think the consumers have a right to know before the deciede to buy. SEem shady to me.

squeeky floors and beam covering that expand and contract and fall down, walls that now to an inch deviation, and sills that r made of compressed paper so wen wet they swell like cardboard, carpet is so cheesy that it lasts a year max. some joints have 100 staples not screws or nails, and some have 2, 2 are fine if done properly and in correct location... otherwise 4 the price its okay. We will need to replace most everything if its expected life is 20 years!

My partner and I purchased a Skyline modular home which was set on our property Spring this year. The home was the 2nd modular delivered from Skyline's McMinnville OR plant. We moved in the middle of July. A major issue with the home is the floor system Skyline used was a truss system design manufactured by Oregon Truss Company. The floors "flex" and "squeak" throughout the home. Skyline has responded to the situation but only by putting a bandaid on the problem. The latest solution is jacks and partial beams which are not consistently placed so the floors still flex and squeak. If we were to try and resell the home, a potential buyer would look in the crawl space and see portable jacks under the floor. This is not the fix we discussed with Skyline's Service Manager. The quality of workmanship is not to the standard we expected and we have let the Service Manager know this. A point in their favor is that they have responded to our issues and have sent qualified personnel to make necessary adjustment and repairs. The floor issue still needs a permanent resolution.
