Editorial Review | RCM Modular is an above average Canadian provider of modular homes. They also produce mobile homes but their main focus is on modular homes and their website reflects this. They have good information available as well as pictures of their homes with floorplans. They also provide online brochures and videos to help home buyers make their decision. RCM Modular is a high quality producer and a good selection for the mid to upper scale home buyers. They are a younger company but in their short history they have achieved an impressive record. |

Personal Reviews of RCM Modular
Scott Duesler from Broadalbin, New York
I wish there was an option for no stars. In short, we received a condemned house, uninhabitable. Not only have we lost our life savings but am now going through bankruptcy. RCM has destroyed our lives....Without writing a novel here it started with the delivery being 6 months late (we had plans to marry on the property but had to make last minute changes). Then someone "misread" the blueprint. There was a 3 foot error in the starting of the construction, this dominoed across the rest of the house. The end result, a bedroom to small to be useful and a master bedroom big enough for a bed (and maybe one nightstand). None of the tiling and counter tops matched what we ordered and there were multiple broken items from delivery. I can't forget to mention the driver backing the first section into a tree, knocking a section of bay windows out of whack, they also forgot to remove the shingles from one end of the house before lifting it with the crane, all the weight on one end imbalanced the section of house and started to form a ^ shape. We tried for 6 months to get it resolved, was willing to be flexible and do what it would take to make it livable. They did make one attempt to fix things but only made things worse. If I could only post pictures here (imagine not having a 2x4 long enough to put in a stud, then taking two pieces of 2x4 and nailing them together with a third piece, this is how they studded a new wall. They also left exposed live wiring hanging out of the walls that were cut into). The house was literally condemned by the inspector! After this we even tried legal action but we still could not get a response from them. Unfortunately, the bank has now foreclosed on us and took the house. Now we have lost everything including the property that I proposed to my wife on.

My house was installed by RCM in 2005. Everything was perfect, great people, very professional and excellent value. Previous bad reports reports may have related to a very bad distributor they had in the Concord area. I dealt directly with the factory and they couldn't have been more professional. They even drove down a box of floor tile for me. I had one issue and they were there with a crew to fix it the next week. I love this house

We love our modular home. HOWEVER, the service at RCM is nothing but DEPLORABLE! We purchased our house for 2003 delivery and I have been FIGHTING with them ever since to receive our missing, replacement and unfinished items. The initial correspondence was for us to pay to have the work done and RCM would reimburse us (because their crew was too busy at the time) and we are now, and have been since 2004 totally ignored! We have tried to get replacement mirrors for our 2 bathrooms (as these immediately started to peel) - no luck. We have tried to be reimbursed for the work that we paid an outside contractor fo finish the stairs that RCM did not do - no luck. We ask simply for the window screen for the custom sized Andersen kitchen window - no luck. We only ask for some replacement tiles for the ones that were damaged during shipment from Canada - NO LUCK. EVERYTHING that we request is due to us - and paid for by us! Still, my daily phone calls and emails either go unanswered or I receive a "I'll work on it" every month or so. I am at the point of asking for their insurance information so that I may file a claim - now, even that request goes UNANSWERED! This is my honest and verified (by telephone calls, faxes and emails sent and RECEIVED to/from RCM) Again, nice house, HORRIBLE attitude.
