Editorial Review | Due to a combination of the bad economy and their factory being flooded, Manorwood Homes has relocated to the Pennwest facility. We like their quality modular homes. They are an established provider with a good reputation for solid workmanship. Our mystery shopper was very pleased dealing with their customer service. We also enjoyed their website with online floorplans. Modular home buyers should consider them when choosing this home builder. These homes look very good in suburban neighborhoods. They matched up very well against old fashioned stick-built homes. The builders we spoke with also spoke highly of the quality control process Manorwood used. |

Personal Reviews of Manorwood Homes

I have 28x64 design the steel I beams decayed structure is collapsing very poor and cheap design very poorly assembled better off by a mobile home.

From Lloyd in Ivy VA. With 4 kids, 2 adults, and 3 cats, we needed maximum bang for the buck. Using a pair of 14x76 modules (biggest they could haul) for most efficient per-square-foot-cost, we custom designed a 5 BR 3 bath ranch home that was exactly what we needed. Working on the custom layout with Manorwood went better than I expected. After living in the home for 4 years, gotta say it was money well spent. The few minor issues that cropped up were resolved long ago, and it looks like the home will be fine for many, many, years to come. I would recommend Manorwood Homes.

I am saddened to read some of the above reviews. We have been in our Manorwood Home, purchased through Paradise Homes, in Morgantown, WV, for five years now. Our home is of very high quality, well built, and we are very pleased. The crew we worked with took care of every detail and fulfilled every promise. I wish everyone could have had the same experience with their new build. I highly recommend Paradise Homes, and have no regrets with our choice. Thank you.

I have sold manorwood homes in maine for 20 yrs , and have had very good luck with them ! you are always going to have your everyday service issues as you will with and modular. My in-laws sold there home and move to maine to be close to the grand children and I delivered them there new manorwood ranch and they absolutely love it and I sell 3 different manufacturers !

Unfortunately we do not own a Manorwood Home. We worked for months with a sales rep, picked out a home with options, but, when our appraisal came in, we were $60,000 short. We are super sad, my husband has been in the Army for 28 years and this was going to be our retirement home. The homes are well built and so beautiful. Unfortunately this Army family will have to look at other homes.

We thought we were buyinr a quality home and its everything but a quality home.Every cabinet in the house is cracked, shower valves leak with no access,no access to the toe kick heater,no access co whirlpool mixing valve which leaks, only half of the kick board installed on the trusses, roof not straight, doors dont latch and you can see every seam in the drywall. It appears there is no quality control at manorwood

I am a Manorwood home owner who got a drop and Set thru a local builder. Our home was built exactly how we spec'd it out. Due to old reviews I read on this forum, I called and spoke directly to the and asked questions regarding these reviews and they were very forthcoming. As mentioned already, they have a new facility, explained to me how they were going to built our home even before we choose them. We even had a visit from a Manorwood executive after our home was set to see how we liked the home and asked what they could do better. This visit may have been due to the fact our local builder had a few Manoorwoods going up due to Super Storm Sandy but he spent time looking at our house and wa nted our feedback which was nice. We are happy with our Manorwood home!!

I am a builder of manorwood homes. Manorwood moved to a new state of the art faciltiy in 2011 after a flood destroyed their old manufacturing facility. They offer quality homes at very affordable prices. With the new factory comes all new staff and high commitment to quality control. i am very selective who i build for and they produce a very nice home at a very affordable price point. The quality of the homes they produce are as good as any of the best in the modular home business. And now with the new IRC building code every home is inspected at the factory so you know your getting a very well built home. I believe that some of the reviews above were because of bad builders because I have not seen any of those things in any of my manorwood homes. And my customers are very happy with them.

This also was suppose to be our dream home, we change the design to what we dreamed of having in a home. We did alot of upgrades. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND MANORWOOD HOMES!!! The Plattsburgh Housing should have told us that this company does not fix problems in a timely manner or not at all, they represented this company to us and we put all our faith in them, they misrepresented this company to us telling us how great they were. First our back patio door was not installed correctly and they sent someone to look at it 4 times, the cold & hot air was coming in so bad all winter & summer, they finally put in a new door, which time after time we told them we needed, that only took 16 months to fix. I called Steve Anderson at Manorwood so many times and he would NEVER return my phone calls. They don't stand behind their products. In the living room and kitchen every screw is coming out of the sheetrock, not their problem though, we had no control over who did the work on our house, so if it was bad quality I guess to bad for us, it never got fixed but they did send a guy to take pictures of it and he even said this is bad. We upgraded and had a propane fireplace put in our living room, it is only a steel insert no bricks or anything, so cheap but we paid alot for it. All the faucets are the cheapest you can get. Had sewer fumes going into our master bath because the piping wasn't done right. The light fixtures are so cheap. I wish I would have seen these reviews before we bought this house, if I would I would not have picked it. We paid alot for our dream home and I am so disappointed. Very poor quality. They should have a 0 for a rating. I highly recommend research the company you are thinking about buying from.

OMG, after only about 5 yrs all my roof boards (panels) that are held on with staples are all lifting off. From the outside there are spots that the shingles are raised up so high you can see it from the road. The openings it created are so large you can see down into the attic. Too many other major things wrong to list (siding falling off), but the roof is the major one and will require someone to rebuild my roof soon. I have a better warranty on my car. Nice job Manorwood "craftsman". You should all be prosecuted!

We have been in our Manorwood home for just over 2 years now. It is a very nice looking and sturdy home. It has withstood many "weather events" with no problems. It is important to find a good distributor that will work with you and the Valley Custom Home team has fit the bill well. There will always be problems with any kind of new home construction so the key is a good relationship based on mutual trust and respect with your builder. Chris and his people are experienced, friendly, and do a great job. We work things out as the situation evolves.

My wife and I are EXTREMELY happy with how our Manorwood home turned out. It was everything Chris at Valley Custom Homes said it would be. These modulars are built as good if not better than any stick built home out there at a fraction of the cost. Lets face it they have to be built strong to be picked up with a crane and set on the foundation. I have and will keep recommending Valley Custom Homes(Manorwood Homes) to any body looking to built. They treated us like family.

I have been in my Manorwood Home since 1997. It was one of the first Cape Cods they had built and they built it well. I think most of the problems people are talking about are due to the distributor the home was bought from and their subs, not Manorwood. So pick a reputable distributor.

My husband and I are extremely happy with our Manorwood Home. Not only was the home very affordable, the quality was actually better then we expected and the service from Manorwood has been great. They stood behind the product and took care of all of our service issues in a timely manner. I would highly recommend them!
