Our Review

Editor's Rating
Editorial ReviewIrontown Homes provides a wide variety of modular homes. These homes are available direct to consumers which is unusual but helpful in that in helps gives consumers bargaining power with local builders assuming the home buyers are experienced enough to handle the detail finish work which is necessary for every modular home. We feel Irontown Homes is a possible option for home buyers near their factory. Make sure you thoroughly review them and visit their factory as we have heard some uncomfortable things about them. This is probably only a good match for entry to mid range home buyers.

Personal Reviews of Irontown Homes

A Conte from San Francisco Bay Area
Having the same problem with them as everyone here. Talked once to their President, (Who started the company) Rich Valgardson, let him know how excited i was to work with them, but after that, no response to emails. If Kendra is being honest than why will they not respond to communications or answer basic questions. I was ready to buy a dozen units and I was very excited about discovering them and told every one about them, (most people in the housing industry never heard of them), and now i regret ever thinking they were legitimate. If you can't run a business that has a product that sells itself, give it to someone who can.

Sarah from Seattle
I have had the same problems with IronTown. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND contacting Greenfab in Seattle if you are interested in building a home anywhere in Washington State. They have amazing customer service and provide beautiful homes.

Andrea from WA
Before Thanksgiving 2013, I filled out their online request for information regarding one of their houses. Since it was the holiday weekend, I held off calling until Monday.

On 12/2/13 - I left a message with their "sales" dept. My work schedule is kind of funny, so I figured I would call as I had time (so they didn't have to try to call me at the "right" time.)

So on 12/3/13 - I called again. Didn't leave a message since they already had my first one.

On 12/4/13 - I called and tried the "general" mailbox. I mentioned my previous two attempts to contact them and said I was trying the general mailbox just in case folks were off on vacation or something.

On this date I also sent an email, as some companies are more responsive to email and don't really use their phones.

Today is Friday 12/6/13. I have yet to receive any reply from the company. Not even an automated "Thank you for emailing us, a representative will contact you shortly."

I thought perhaps the entire company decided to take time off between now and Christmas since it's kind of a slow time of year. But that's a bit odd, so I thought I would check their BBB rating and see if there are any reviews.

The BBB rating was A+, which was good. But the reviews are almost non existent except for this site. Unfortunately it appears everyone else is having the same problem. Given my troubles reaching them for even basic pricing information and the fact that others are having the same problem I'm leery of working with them for something as complex as housing that requires good constant communication between the parties.

They may be a fine company. There may be a perfectly good reason why contacting them is so difficult. But I'm probably going to hold off at this point.

Bob Murri from Centerville
Left messages for Cam. Never a return call. Never can reach a "live" person when I call. Wanted to use this home solution for several lots in Nevada. I can see I need to work with a more responsive and reliable option.

Jeremy from Yakima
I agree with these other customers; the sale department is a phantom ghost. Nobody answers the phone or calls you back or answers the company contact e-mail link on the site. I don't see how they run a business without having one human being answer the phone the 8-12 times I have called. I left multiple messages sent emails and no response at all. It's been weeks and absolutely nothing. This is the opposite of good business practice, and the building process is already a discouraging process to begin with. What is sad is Irontown looks like they would do a great job but, I guess we will never know. I just wanted basic pricing info. Sheesh. Just pick up the phone!

M Jada from Fremont
I've experienced the same issue. The sales person promised to send quotes and additional designs; now it's over 3 months and still no communication. How could I depend on them for my dream home if they can't even call back or keep their words?

S Nebel from Los Angeles, CA
While I was initially quite excited about Irontown, I can't even get a quote out of them. After one month of promises that I'll have pricing 'tomorrow,' they barely answer the phone. This company is either going out of business or in the middle of some major transition. Either way, I don't think I would place an order with them at this point.

Response from Kendra Bernal at Irontown Homes
We are sorry to hear that Mr. Nebel was unsatisfied with our time frame in returning his estimate. WE ARE NO WHERE NEAR GOING OUT OF BUSINESS. We have many, many satisfied customers. In the future, Mr. Nebel, we will strive to improve our Architectural/Dealer programming. As we explained to you in the beginning of our -conversations it was a pilot program. WE TYPICALLY SELL DIRECT TO THE CONSUMER.
