Our Review

Editor's Rating
Editorial ReviewFactory Direct Modular Homes helps to connect home buyers with modular home providers through their network. The homeowner is responsible for all of the onsite work which can be handled by subcontractors that the homeowner oversees. This allows you to potentially save a large amount on your modular home if you know what you are doing. Completing a modular home is not a small undertaking and if you do not have any construction background you will have a hard time making sure the subcontractors are doing the right thing for the right cost and can lose thousands of dollars. For your modular home to be a success you need to follow the guidance provided by Factory Direct Modular Homes and do some research otherwise it can be a disaster. They tell homeowner/builders to hire licensed subcontractors with liability insurance for their modular home project. We strongly suggest that you follow their guidance and do not cut corners with this option. This is not the easiest modular home option and might not be a good fit for everyone.

Personal Reviews of Factory Direct Modular Homes

Douglas from Burlington NJ
This company is not a manufacturer! Their advertising is misleading and their claim to save the consumer thousands is simply false. Once one reviews their "construction manual" which contains their contract terms and conditions, or a summary of, it is clear that this company is simply a consulting network (by the company's own admission), and the actual purchase is between the home manufacturer (again who is not modular home factory direct) and the customer. Also, they make very clear in their literature that their claim to save you thousands is simply not applicable. I take issue with this claim, since by looking at their website and other advertisements, the clarifying disclaimer regarding the "save thousands" hook is non existent. Once has to purchase the construction manual to see this disclaimer. This borders on false and misleading advertisement. Another issue I take with this company and their misleading practices is that they claim their construction manual is 100 pages, and as a matter of fact it is only 70 pages (including the cover page).
