| Editorial Review | Sun Building Systems was part of the Pleasant Street Homes group which provides above average modular homes. They were good at providing customized solutions for modular home buyers. They matched the appearance of stick-built homes and their homes blend in well amongst any neighborhood. This was a good option for mid range to upper scale modular home buyers. In 2010 Sun Building Systems closed its doors due to significant financial issues. It seems unlikely they will reopen and if they do reopen then modular home buyers should proceed with caution. |

Personal Reviews of Sun Building Systems
J Gowdy from Vermont I went through Dave Curtis at VT Modular and was sold a bill of goods. I live up steep driveway and the trucks would not deliver even though Curtis said they could. We had to drag the trailers up the driveway (1000') with a bulldozer and bucket loader from a local quarry. D. Curtis told me he would split the bill but only gave me 1/3 There were many small rather stupid problems with the house and I was told to go ahead and fix them. I submitted a $2k carpentry bill to D. Curtis and he kept the money not paying me. Bad Experience all around. kiki wallace from Maryland Sun people are great the sales guy was understanding and ready to help with any problems. Ann from New York My family and I built with Sun Building and have nothing but good to say about our home. We designed our own home and with the help of their engineering department, we had our dream home. What little service we needed, their service department took care of. Thank you, Sun. Max Carson from Connecticut Sun Builders was amazing. Everything was perfect and the few items that needed to be corrected were done almost immediately. I would definitely recommend Sun to everyone. john miller from throop i work for sun homes and do not buy a house from them the people they have builing these houses dont even know how to read a tape measure the company is going under !!!!! they are cutting employees pay taking shortcuts on how they build thier homes Carrie from Honesdale Sun is the worst modular company I have ever dealt with. I was on the site of my new home bein put up and all I heard from the workers was how horrible it was to work for these people. Finally I moved into my new home and there are tons of minor problems that Sun will not wok with me on correcting. Do not buy form Sun Let them go out of buisness. Gary Nestved from Wallkill, NY We have very little good things to say about Sun Homes. We put a deposit with our local builder back in May, and finalized our plans in 2 months. It took 3 1/2 months before it went online, and when it arrived, there were numerous items that were wrong or missing, but the most disturbing was that the roof lines did not match correctly at the ridge or at the overhang. It has now been over 10 days and we have yet to be contacted by Sun to let us know of their intensions. It is now the middle of Dec. and we are regretting our move to let Sun build our house. Lou Mankowski from New Jersey Sun Building Systems is an extreemly compitent builder of modular homes. They were very responsive to every thing that we requested in our custom designed home. We are in the final stages of building and Sun has been very responsive to all minor problems. I would recommend Sun to anyone. J Leonard from maryland We had our home built 6 years ago by sun and a local home builder. The Sun people were great. We love our home, also it has been very engergy efficent. We have loved this home since the day we moved in and now that we are looking to build again, we would like to build another Sun home.
