Our Review

Editor's Rating
Editorial ReviewManorwood Homes is part of Commodore Homes and builds above average modular homes. They are an established provider with a good reputation for solid workmanship. Our mystery shopper was very pleased dealing with their customer service. We also enjoyed their website with online floorplans. We feel very comfortable with any modular home buyer choosing this home builder. These homes are above average quality and look very good. They can match up against stick-built homes very well. The builders we spoke with also spoke highly of the quality control process Manorwood uses.

Personal Reviews of Manorwood Homes

Raymond from Freeville, NY
First the bad. One of the main selling points was the speed. But with speed comes quality issues. Materials from the Price Pfister cheap plumbing(shower head already coming apart), softwood and soft drywall everywhere easy to dent and scratch, the inside cabinets are MDF covered with thin wall paper material. It pays to look past the specification and more at the materials. The worst part of the experience has been the finishing of the home. After almost two months living in my home, American Homes still has not finished exterior elements, like roof caps and shutters. They are unprofessional, and lack the ability to communicate effectively as to when the will come to finish the job. Now the good, the sales rep Jean was really nice, she has been a great help, and work with us. The home is what I paid for in structure, it is sound, the problem area can be easily upgraded. I ordered a cape cod modular price around $64 per sq ft for just the home, excluding site improvements, and does not count for the upstairs which I plan I finishing. If I was to do it again I would look closer at the materials, and may have put some timing requirements in the contract with pentalties.

My husband and I are extremely happy with our Manorwood Home. Not only was the home very affordable, the quality was actually better then we expected and the service from Manorwood has been great. They stood behind the product and took care of all of our service issues in a timely manner. I would highly recommend them!

A bit disappointed in craftsmanship and quality. I think the fact they come from the mobile home side of construction hampers their ability to provide true modular quality.

i would give a 0 rating if allowed. the craftmanship in our home was not done by skilled craftsman. we have had all cupboards but one replaced in our kitchen. they were cracked, the drawers were put in wrong. the nails are coming up through the flooring. this they did reimburse us for. before we were allowed into our new home the radiator leaked for three days on the living room rug, sm bedroom and front hallway. this had to be repaired. all the nails came through the masterbedroom on one wall. they incorrectly hooked up the master bathroom whirlpool tub. the linoleum floor by the front door was cracked. i have pictures of cracked beams on the second floor. we have had to spend thousands of dollars to replace what these "skilled craftsman" did for us. we are still finding errors. today our kitchen sink faucet cracked. how does this happen. this is not the beautiful home we thought it would be. we lived in an old home for 20 years with childeren and did not have the problems we are having with our new home. my advice is let the buyer beware. inspect everything the minute your home is on your property. dont have the same problems we do.

We saw manorwood at the Hershey Home Show on March 30,2008. We were very impressed with the modular home on display.
