Personal Reviews of Excel Homes
M Garner from Asheboro Buying a home from them was a complete nightmare. The rep always lied , it took 8 months to get my home When it did get here it had black mold throughout the home which I still have pics of. Total home buying experience was the worst experience I have ever had. Of course the WVA plant has since closed ha ha ha. Michael Eck from Cape May, NJ I also purchased an Excel home through Nieman Homes. The house arrived as planned and the finish was very good. The set went well and any problems (of which were very limited) were fixed by a factory rep. The set crew went beyond what they were supposed to, in order to get the home sealed before bad weather arrived. A local builder and I finished the home and found no problems with the building or construction. The only complaint that I could have is that there is poor communication between factory reps and the end user. There were some minor items that turned into larger projects than they needed to due to the fact that they prohibit communication, except through the builder. The proscess could be more streamlined if you did not need to call the builder to find out if certian items were available, who would in turn call the factory and than the builder would have to call you back and you would repeat the process if the first option fell through. As far as the builder goes. Ed was great to deal with and I feel as though our families will be friends for long time to come. He was truely concerned with getting us a quality product that would last my family for many years. I trust his family so much that they now babysit my children, which is something that we are very particular about. I would recommend Nieman Builders with out hesitation. Tim Frehley from If they only have a factory in Liverpool, PA. It makes me wonder what kind of shape thier homes would arrive in??? If you ship a home from PA. to GA. I know good and well there will be to many drywall cracks to fill and not to mention the stress cracks around the marriage line & door ways. I don't see how any modular company can be allowed to ship homes that far. I wouldn't buy a home from them unless I lived in PA. j leach from maine Mr Monzo appears to have been generaling the job and not the builder. It is not uncommon for the buyer to want to do that to save money however we discourge this and have turned down contracts if the home buyer wasn't experenced............ Anthony Monzo from Cape May, NJ Terrible. They sold me a home through Niemann Construction, who claims he was never supposed to finish the house and left me with the responsibility of supervising the delivery and set as well as hiring a finish crew which I was unaware of until after the set. Several items were not delivered, including exterior doors. And then Excel refused to take any of my numerous call or respond to my letters about defects in the construction and warranty matters, claiming that they would only work through Niemann COnstruction as one of their authorized builders. I have defectively installed windows and doors, crushed pipes, water damage, an unusable hot water baseboard heating system (which caused significant sheetrock damage to replace), and toilets that do did not fit. The home was delivered and set with an opening in the roof where the turret tower was supposed to be. Excel has done nothing to help me and we are now in a lawsuit. with damages that will likely exceed $100,000.00.
